Harlean

Thank you for your Prayers!
As most of you know, my beautiful sister-Harlean suffered a major heart attack this week. She is lucky to be alive. She is heavily sedated, on dialysis for kidneys, and a breathing tube. We truly thought we were going to lose her yesterday and the Dr. basically told us there was not much else he could do. They had put in a balloon-pump and her heart rate went way up and her her blood pressure dropped way down, we called in the hospital chaplain and we all held hands and gathered around her bed and prayed (keep in mind, only close family members and only 2 at a time allowed in ICCU) there were 8 of us in there. Within minutes her blood pressure started to go up-God is Good! He gave us hope when we truly had none. Even the nurse told us she thought the prayers had worked.
I can't remember when I have felt so desperate, so scared, so shocked. She has always been there for all of us, our rock, my sister, my mother, my best friend, on Easter we had a huge family dinner and she was showing us her hula moves from the dance lessons she took on her last cruise. Then in the course of a few days and being sick-she is fighting for her life. A rug was truly jerked out from under us. But she made it through the night and her numbers are stable as I write this. Today they did another procedure called a TTE, where they put a camera down her esophagus and could check out the damage done to her heart, there was a significant tear and by a miracle the blood that leaked actually sealed itself, which is why she is alive. The Dr. said most people would not have survived this. The tear is in a very tricky spot behind the heart and they will eventually have perform heart surgery to patch the tear, which is scary, but we will cross that bridge when we get there. Right now the thought of her having surgery is good news to me-it means she will still be here and needs it.
I know God has a plan for all of us and as much as I believe that, I want this to by my plan. I want her to heal, get better and be here with me for the next 50 years! But I know it is His plan, His will, His decision. I think we have hundreds of people praying for her and I know they are working. I don't know what tomorrow will bring but I do know that she is here today because God has heard our prayers. Please keep them coming.
I will try to keep you all up to date,
love, Diane

Greetings Bloggers and Friends!

I simply cannot beleive I have not blogged since February! Wow, I miss it! Work, work, and work is the reason I have not been here lately. However, I think work is slowing down.....
I am in beautiful San Diego for Easter vacation at my daughter's house. I love her house, I don't want to leave! She and her husband are so great and fun. And they make us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The sun is shinning and everythings is always green. And the flowers! They are everywhere. Yesterday we had lunch in La Jolla, on the beach, and watched the seals frolic in the ocean, life is good!

Hot or Cold?

Life in Cheyenne has made me realize one thing...I am a warm weather person! I would rather be sweating than teeth chattering. Sick of being cold! Today at work, I kept my heavy wool coat on the whole day...inside a heated building. I cannot get warm. Give me sun, give me heat, give me warmth, NOW!
ps- if I complain this summer about the heat and humidity in Fort Worth...remind me of what I just wrote,
Freezing my cheeks off in Cheyenne....

Happy Superbowl Weekend!

Poor Fort Worth/Dallas....this ice is unreal! People sliding on the roads everywhere! And now sheets of ice are melting and falling off the stadium and actually hit and injured people below. Who would have imagined? But...the sun is shinning today and the game is inside, so no worries. Now if they can get people into the stadium without a mini avalanche covering them from the falling ice all will be good....
PS- Steeler's or Packer's? Who cares, not my teams.
But I will watch the game and maybe drink a beer or 2! Enjoy the day!

Sick of.....

I am so sick of the crap on TV! I cannot understand how these networks and their creators can sleep at night. Do they not see the negativity and moral corruption they are pushing on our kids?
There are no consequences...they glamorize sex, drugs, and never show the effects this kind of behavior have on kids...they make it all look like fun and games. What about the STD's, the sad feeling of being used these young girls wake up with, and what about teenage pregnancy? Good grief, doesn't anybody care?
Just makes me realize more than ever...Emmie's Hope is a small way I can try to make a difference...also boycott the sponsors. More later....

Random Thoughts

Cold here.
Sick of the news.
Sick of Snooki.
Sick of Joy Behar.
Sick of Reality TV...it is corrupting our youth and no one seems to care. They cross the line on a daily basis and no one says anything. I don't watch it...but you don't need to. The news and media gives us a dose every day...personally it makes me sick. And Sad.

Tucson Tragedy

Such a sad event...No words can even describe the tragedy that occurred in Tucson yesterday. Innocent people shot and killed, not to mention a beautiful little 9 year old girl Christina Greene. I cannot even begin to know what their families are going through, like I said, there are no words to describe it. My prayers go out to all the victims and their families.
