Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding...week 2 scripture to memorize. Love this scripture. If we truly believed this we would not worry so much. TRUST in the Lord. I do! But I worry...about everything! Why? I say I am going to give it to God, and I do. But then I worry. He must be sooooo frustrated with me! Thank goodness He is forgiving, loving and patient. Otherwise I would be in trouble. Okay then, let's all TRUST in the Lord with all our hearts!

What if all you had today is what you thanked God for yesterday?
Wow! My niece posted this the other day on her facebook page. She posted it on a Monday. Thank goodness. Because on Sunday I went to church and thanked God for my family, all of them! So I had that going for me, ha. I try to be thankful everyday, but what if this had been on Tuesday or any other day of the week? Would I have been so lucky? We can pray about anything, our wants, our needs, our concerns. Prayer, simply put, is conversation with God. So, in pondering this question always remember to THANK Him first!

The Challenge
After pondering several scriptures and trying to pick one to memorize I realized I have a few really good ones already embedded on this old brain. Yea! A few come to mind-the most important of all-John 3:16 (I suggest if you do not know this verse, memorized it today!) Also Philippians 4:13 and John 14:6. The scripture I chose to memorize this week is Ephesians 2: 8 & 9. I know, it's 2 verses, but they have to go together, they just do. I am cheating a little with this, because I am so familiar with this verse, I've read it a thousand times, but realized if someone asked me if I could recite Ephesians 2: 8-9 I would not be able to. So here I go. 8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast." It means that doing good things will not get you to Heaven. The only way to Heaven is by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. By God's grace you will receive salvation.

I am a "facebook follower" of The Purpose Driven Life (loved that book), this was their post a couple of days ago: "The Word of God is your weapon against Satan. Jesus modeled this when he was tempted in the wilderness. He simply quoted Scripture from memory. There is power in God’s Word, and Satan fears it. If you don’t have any Bible verses memorized, you’ve got no bullets in your gun! I challenge you to memorize one verse a week for the rest of your life. Imagine how much stronger you’ll be."
WOW! I read scripture often, but seldom memorize it...so I am taking on this challenge. I am doing baby steps, my goal is to do this for the month of August. I will memorize a scripture each week...stay tuned.
Grooveymom update...
Okay, I am politically charged! Sad, mad, discouraged over the state of affairs our country is in...but I am going to try to keep "Grooveymom" on the lighter side of life. However, if you would like to hear me vent about politics, click on "Common Sense" and hear me roar!
AUGUST 3, 2014! Say it isn't so...
Greetings to all of you out there in the blog world. I cannot beleive I have not posted anything for over a year! Sometimes real life is just way more important...like having grandchildren! I am blessed, that's all I'm gonna say, just call me Glamma!

Attitude Adjustment!
Most of you know I love Joyce Meyer, this is from her Confident Women Devotional:
"Believe in your value" Because you are precious in My sight, and because I love you, I will give men in return for you and peoples in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you. Isaiah 43: 4-5
She says "take a minute and look into your heart. How do you feel about yourself? If your answer does not agree with God's word, I encourage you to begin today renewing your your mind about yourself.
See yourself as God sees you. Study God's word and you will find out that you are precious, created in your mother's womb by God's own hand. You are not an accident. You are valuable, you have worth, you are gifted, you are talented, and you have purpose on this earth.
Not only must we ask God for things He has promised us but we must receive them (John 16:24). If you feel unworthy, you probably won't ask, and even if you do, you won't receive by faith. Don't let feelings rule you anymore. Take a step of faith and start improving your quality of life today. Believe that you make good decisions, that you are a valuable person with a great future, and something good is going to happen to you today."
I love Joyce Meyer, I read this devotional every morning...try to buy it if you can, we all need an attitude adjustment every so often, abut mostly we need to remember to lean on God, with Him all things are possible.
PS- HAPPY NEW YEAR!
